Takoyaki Malaysia is its nickname but its real name is Bakar Berlauk. I'm sorry to every Bakar Berlauk that exists in this world for toying with your name :p I cooked this when I was visiting my kampung in Batu Pahat.
I couldn't help from not calling this food as Takoyaki Malaysia because the way it is made is almost the same with Takoyaki~ But I could say the preparation of Bakar Berlauk is more complicated than Takoyaki but the easy part is I don't have to flip the food a number of times like Takoyaki.
I couldn't say which one is better because I love them both equally~
